Crab cakes seem like romantic food to me (is that a thing?), so we’ve created a new recipe for the upcoming holiday of love. It makes golden, seasoned cakes that are crispy on the outside and melt-in-your-mouth tender, and paired with creamy tartar sauce they’re pretty darn irresistible.
After we made those insanely good Vegan Crab Cakes a few weeks ago, we realized we didn’t have a recipe with actual crab. Both of them are equally delicious!
Garlic Parmesan Wings (or Buffalo Cauliflower Wings)
Those of you who know A Couple Cooks from the beginning might assume these garlic parmesan wings are made of cauliflower. But nope, this is real chicken (though of course we’ve got a vegan variation linked above!).
They’re baked to crispy perfection, then tossed with melted butter, Parmesan cheese and garlic for an explosion of flavor with every bite! We like serving them with lemon pepper sauce but buffalo ranch is pretty ideal, too.
We couldn’t quite shake the “vegan dessert but you wouldn’t know it” theme, so we’ve got one more for you! This irresistible vegan apple crisp has warm, gooey apples and a golden oat-streusel topping! It’s made with simple plant-based ingredients and the perfect comforting treat.
Just like last week’s popular vegan chocolate chip cookies, we might like this crisp even better than the classic!
Here’s a fun Valentine’s Day cocktail idea for you: the Brandy Crusta! We don’t often drink brandy cocktails, but this one was so fun we had to share it. This drink dates back to the 1860's, but in flavor it’s timeless.
It’s perfectly balanced, with orange and cherry liqueur that balance fresh lemon and sultry brandy. The best part? A big beautiful sugar crust that makes a fun texture to the glass and an oversized lemon peel garnish. An unexpected gem!
